Driscoll alights onto the metal platforming that weaves through the power plant with an almost disinterested air, adjusting his glasses as he glances about. It seems nothing ever changes here, and although the prospect is an incredibly dull one for the scientist personally, it stands to reason that this, one of his preferred locales for data collection, may at least be relied upon.

"Well now, Ambrose," he murmurs, unshouldering his bag and crouching to open it, "What do you think? Breakthrough today, mm?"

In response, his Baltoy spins lazily into view in front of him, offering a bright, optimistic chirp. Driscoll scoffs to himself, though a pleased grin somehow manages to pass fleetingly across his features. He withdraws a heavily-modified voltmeter, extending twin antennae with a flick of his finger and turning a dial, causing the needle on the display to begin jittering.

Satisfied, he stands and slings the bag over his shoulder once more, beckoning the Baltoy with a jerk of his head and venturing deeper into the power plant. "I suppose we'll see, won't we?"

Driscoll walks calmly through the power plant, though his gaze is fixed more on the voltmeter in his hand than it is on the path before him. Ambrose, the Baltoy, spins lazily through the air as it hovers just behind him at shoulder height, emitting a pleased rattle every so often.

A soft clatter from above goes unnoticed by the scientist, but Ambrose utters a shrill cry, slamming into Driscoll's back and causing him to stumble forward a half-step. Just enough, it seems, to avoid the flail-ended vine that slams into the floor grate where he'd just been standing.

"I think not," Driscoll scowls, glaring upward at the Ferrothorn suspended between several struts of metal near the ceiling above. As the vine retracts into the main body of the Ferrothorn, Driscoll glances at Ambrose before sending the Baltoy twirling up to meet the Ferrothorn with a gesture. "Thank you, Ambrose. Bring it down. A single piece is not strictly necessary."

The Baltoy responds with an energetic trill. It begins to vibrate rapidly, and a circle of yellow light begins to bloom in the wall behind the Ferrothorn as though in answer. With a cry, the circle explodes as rocks and dirt from behind the plated walls erupt forward in a display of Earth Power, slamming into the Ferrothorn and causing it to lose purchase on its perch, careening wildly downward to slam into the walkway a short distance from Driscoll.

The scientist regards the fallen Ferrothorn dispassionately, withdrawing a pokeball and tossing it lightly toward the would-be assailant. "You'll do," he quips.
